Tucows Registry Services Onboarding Guide

This guide outlines the onboarding procedures for registrars integrating with Tucows Registry Services (TRS). The steps differ based on the registrar's status: Brand New, Existing, or Migrating.

Brand New TRS Registrar

  1. Send Request to the RO
Complete and sign the respective Registry-Registrar Agreement (RRA). This form is available on each respective TLD website via the IANA Root Zone Database.

Tucows Registry Services contact form is here: tucowsregistry.com/#contact

  2. Initiate Onboarding
We will create an onboarding ticket and provide the following once we have confirmation from the RO:
    • Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) Instructions
    • OT&E Access Credentials
    • OT&E Certificates
    • Production access instructions
  3. Wait for CSR Submission
Registrar sends TRS support the required Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
  4. Credential and Certificate Provisioning
The TRS team issues production credentials and a certificate.

Existing TRS Registrar

  1. Send Request to the RO
Complete and sign the respective Registry-Registrar Agreement (RRA). This form is available on each respective TLD website via the IANA Root Zone Database.

  2. Initiate Onboarding
Once we have the request from the RO and confirm an account already exists with TRS, we will create the new account in the new instance for the respective TLD.
  3. Credential and Certificate Provisioning
    The TRS team provides:
    • Production credentials and certificate
    • OT&E Access Credentials and certificate

Migrating Registrar

    • OT&E Access Credentials
    • OT&E Certificates
    • Production access instructions
  2. Credential and Certificate Provisioning
    • Brand new registrars must provide the CSR required for production access, using the common name provided in the instructions.
    • TRS support uses this CSR to generate the production certificate.
    • TRS support provides the certificate for production EPP access.
    • All registrars will be provided production access once that becomes available on the specified date/time.
